Against this backdrop, the new organization HK in Albion was officially established, with its launch ceremony scheduled for November 13, 2025. Its founding mission is to unite historical, cultural, and community strengths to connect Chinese people in the UK, especially Hong Kongers, while preserving their own culture and fostering more diverse exchanges with the local community.
The name Albion in the organization's name means "white cliff" in classical Chinese, while the Chinese name "崖别岸" (Yá Béi Shore) implies the imagery of separation and reunion, evoking images of migrants from different eras, their footprints revealing a shared lineage.
Why establish an organization?
"Harbour Cliffs" originated from an oral history project documenting the lives of the Chinese community in England. During its development, the team realized that for the project to be successful in the long term, it was essential to first ensure effective planning and support for volunteers and participants.…
